Dominique Vrigneau / Buying Director

Born in Castres near Toulouse in South West France, Dominique qualified in agronomy (agricultural science) and oenology (wine and winemaking) before coming to England for 3 months in 1986 – and never leaving!

His entire career has been spent in the wine industry, working at Majestic prior to being approached by Thierry Cabanne, the founder of Thierry’s, to join him in 1991. With over 25 years experience, Dominique is one of the UK’s top experts in French wine and his palate is in demand judging in many prestigious competitions and tastings throughout the UK.

Being an expert in Old World wines, it’s maybe not surprising that Dominique is similarly passionate about his food. He enjoys cooking from scratch every day and is proud of the fact he’s never bought a ready meal in his life!
